Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026  | Governing law: Switzerland

Notice: Full, lawyer-reviewed Terms of Use are being finalised. This page outlines our current terms. For questions, contact [email protected].

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the mayaNomics Forum platform, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Platform Use

The mayaNomics Forum is a professional geoeconomics discussion and membership platform. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not:

  • Post unlawful, defamatory, or misleading content
  • Impersonate any person or organisation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
  • Use the platform to distribute spam or malware
  • Violate the mayaNomics House Rule of confidentiality

3. Membership

Membership is subject to eligibility requirements, qualification assessment, and payment of applicable fees. mayaNomics Forum reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for breach of these terms.

3a. 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee

All paid memberships — General Body (Observer, Researcher, Scholar, Professional, Executive, Honorary Advisor) and GEDC Delegate tiers (Junior and Senior) — are covered by a 60-day money-back guarantee from the date of first payment. Whether a refund is full or partial depends on whether membership benefits have been utilised during the guarantee window. Approved refunds are processed within 30 to 60 calendar days of the verified request. Full details are set out in the Refund Policy & Money-Back Guarantee.

3b. Refund Exclusions

The 60-day guarantee does not apply in the following circumstances:

  • Memberships terminated by the Forum for breach of these Terms of Use, the House Rule of Confidentiality, or the Master Membership Disclaimer & Operational Disclosure Notice.
  • Committee and Governing Council memberships, which are subject to separate institutional pricing agreements and refund terms set out in the relevant prospectus or council briefing.
  • Academic Access memberships during the 90-day free trial period (no charge is made during the trial; the guarantee applies from the date of first annual billing).
  • Event tickets purchased separately from membership (see Section 3c).
  • Requests made after the 60-day window has elapsed from the date of first payment.
  • Cases where a member has been found to have shared dashboard credentials, modified and redistributed Forum intellectual property, or filed a fraudulent chargeback.

Where membership benefits have been partially utilised within the 60-day window, a partial refund may be issued in lieu of a full refund. See the Refund Policy for the full usage-based calculation methodology.

3c. Event Ticket Refunds

Event tickets purchased separately by non-members are refundable up to 30 days before the event date, subject to a 10% administrative fee. Within 30 days of the event, tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another attendee. Members attending under their membership benefit do not purchase separate tickets.

3d. Cancellation After the Guarantee Period

After the 60-day guarantee period, you may cancel your membership at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current annual billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of the membership year following the guarantee window. To cancel, contact the Forum secretariat or use the cancellation option in your member dashboard.

3e. Affiliate Commission Lock-In

For the purposes of affiliate commission eligibility, the standard lock-in period is 60 days from the date of the customer's first payment — aligned with the money-back guarantee window. Commissions are confirmed and payable once the guarantee period has elapsed without a refund request.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the platform, including text, graphics, logos, and data, is the property of mayaNomics Forum or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

5. Confidentiality (mayaNomics House Rule)

Discussions within the Forum are subject to the mayaNomics House Rule: participants may use information received but may not reveal the identity or affiliation of any speaker or participant, nor attribute any statement to a named individual without explicit consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, mayaNomics Forum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the membership fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich, Switzerland.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be communicated by email.
